It seems relatively easy to get an emergency appointment on the same day, however trying to get a routine appointment has been really difficult for me. I called in the first week of June 2016 to get a routine nurses appointment to review my contraceptive pill which has been giving me chronic headaches. I was told that I could not get an appointment until the end of July (almost two months ahead). Another time that I visited with chronic headaches / migraines, the doctor googled 'headaches' and sent me away with a print out that she found online... I did see the nurse practitioner with an emergency problem as I was really quite unwell and struggling to go to work, who I found really quite abrasive and I was quite upset which is quite unlike me. She didn't even say goodbye once we'd finished the conversation, she just said 'okay then', turned away and started to type. Dr Emma Cooper was the first doctor I met when I came to South Milford and I found her one of the best doctors that I've ever met with. So patient, inquisitive. It's impossible to get an appointment with her but I can see why, she was great.

phoned to book in for travel jabs, was told to phone back 10 weeks before we travel. Did this & was told there were no appointments avaliable & to phone back 20 June when the nurses rota would be out. Did this & now been told to phone back at the end of this week. What a joke this surgery is turning into. Receptionist has given me a number so i can book private & pay, why should i pay when i have payed my NHS since i was 18 & people who have never paid a penny can get an appointment & perscriptions for Free.

Phoned to book an appointment for travel jabs for myself & my daughter about 12 weeks before we travelled. Was asked to phone back at 10 weeks & to look up what jabs we needed. Phoned back & was told there was no appointments so i had to phone back today 20/06/16. Just phoned to be told there are still no appointments & gave me a number so i could go pay for them. I pay my NHS so why should i not be allowed my free jabs. This doctors is getting a joke, i bet the ones who dont pay into the system can get there jabs & free prescriptions. Need to look into changing surgeries as this 1 is definitely going down the pan.

It seems that if you are ill and actually work for a living that you can't get a suitable appointment and the attitude of the receptionists is that it's tough luck in fact the comment you get back when trying to book an appointment is 'you'll be lucky, or ,not a chance'. My husband has been diagnosed with gout in his knee that has now we think spread to his toe following some blood tests and the surgery phoned him to say he needed to see a doctor. They gave him the next appointment of 27th April! He was then told to ring on the day to get a sooner appointment. I got through at eight o'clock to be told there was no evening appointments either at Micklefiled or Milford and that if it was urgent then he should be able to make a morning appointment. He works a fair way away and tries to keep going, you know, to work, even though he is ill. There is no thought, no care, no sympathy from the receptionists just a straight ,no chance,!!!other practices operate Saturday morning and late evening surgeries. Maybe that's the answer. Move! Disgusted.

Care is different deoending on what Dr you see, some just class you as a "number" unlike Dr Lovisetto who is brilliant, kind, patient and understanding and actually listens to you !! but it is very hard to get an appointment with him and I can understand why.As for getting an appointment it is usually about a week !!.As for the recepetionists I find most of them rather rude and unsympathetic and very very unhelpfull to the point of being obstructive and they could do with a course on customer care ! But praise is to be given to a receptionist there called Sue Wilson, who is the total opposite, kind, sympathetic and will help you in any way she can (unlike most of the others who look like they have been smacked round the face with a wet fish !).South Milfird Surgery has totally changed in the last year, not able to get appointments and very unhelpfull staff, is it because of new receptionists and Dr's arriving and not been "of the old school" I don't know, times are changing and certainly not for the better at South Milford Surgery LS25 6AA !
